PLEASE Take Me With You!

On Friday, Jason and I are headed to meet my family and see my sister in Italy! We are all very excited, but sad to leave Tallulah for 10 days! She's getting ready for a big adventure to Peabody, staying with my BFF Tania and her husband Matt. Thanks Guys!! However, if it was up to Lu, she'd stow away in Jason's bag. And she practically matchs my bag, so maybe noone would even notice.

Expect tons of pictures from our trip. We are flying into Venice then traveling to Florance and ending in Rome. Tips on restaurants, sites to see, shopping destinations? Let me know!

"Electric City" Pumpkins

Okay, so Duryea isn't exactly Scranton - the Electric City - but here are the pumpkins that my parents and youngest sister Morgan carved. Spoooooky.

Halloween in the Big City

Happy Halloween! It has been a very busy week - quick trip to Philadelphia for work and of course spent the weekend cheering for the Red Sox!!

In a tribute to her big city, Tallulah spent her first Halloween as a lobster. Look how cute! On Sunday before game I carved a Jack-O-Lantern. Boo. Want your pumpkins to last longer? According to Martha you should spread Vasoline on the carved parts to prevent rotting.

Unfortunatly this year we didn't get any Trick-or-Treaters, probably because you have to be buzz in to our apartment. Though there were a lot of kiddies walking around the neighborhood. Maybe next year!

World Series Game 1

Tonight Jason and I decided on some Sauza Hornitos margaritas to celebrate game one of the World Series. Jason is enjoying the Sox 4-1 lead but the most exiciting part of the night for me was hearing the Green Mountain Boys of the Vermont Air National Guard fly over our apartment seconds before we saw it on tv.

Tallulah says baseball is boring and she'd rather take a kitty nap.

Todd English - Tuscany and Bonfire

While Todd English was busy being a sous chef for Dale on the season finale of Top Chef, I was enjoying his (actually, I should say his executive chefs') dishes at two different Todd English restaurants.

First, on Saturday, I joined some girlfriends at Tuscany at Mohegan Sun. I don't normally choose lamb, but I had the rack of lamb with vegetable panini, couscous yogurt. Tuscany also features some yummy flatbread pizzas and one was enough for all six of us. We shared the Garganelli - herb ricotta and mozzarella, spicy roasted tomatoes. It was a bit to spicy for me though. One of my friends had the Gnocchi which also looked very good.

Red Sox Game Day Bar Menu at Bonfire, Park Plaza

Well, the Sox are up 2 to 1 in the second inning of the 5th game of the ALCS. If the Indians win, you'll have to wait till next season to try the 'ballpark treats with a twist' that Bonfire offers on game days. Jason and I joined some friends on Monday evening. The Sox lost, but my belly was happy after the Pesky Pole Kobe corn dog with chipotle ketchup and pickle mustard relish! I'll admit that I seldom come across a hotdog that I don't like, but this was SO good. The batter on the corn dog was very light but the dog was thick with a snappy skin. Yum! See pics above pulled from BostonHerald.com.

We also had Big Papi Bonfire nachos with avocado crème, black bean puree and pico de gallo and Green Monster guacamole. Everything on the menu was under $15 - but the drinks made the night a bit pricey.

Distempered Kitty

Tallulah had her third distemperment shot this morning so she is sleepy and woozy now. Resting in the sun. She also weighs 3 pounds now! Getting so big.

Sister in the Vatican City

Michelle's dorm in Rome is around the corner from the Vatican. Here is a picture she took at night. My family, Jason and I are going to Rome to see Michele in just about a month. We're visiting Venice, Florence and Rome. I'm in the market for some leather. A bag..or shoes.
